About 17,300 teachers, including 2,300 emergency or critical area, will teach, with 82 percent holding at least a BA, four points above the national average. Only about one third of annual college graduates stay in state to teach. more funds could attract and retain qualified teachers. The school year runs 180-185 days, with 3-5 holidays, and 190-200 paid days for various counties. summer ends with school out from May to mid-June.
