The body of Joe Jarrell, 22, of Comfort and a West Virginia Institute of Technology football player, was recovered from New River north of Hinton after an 18 hour rescue effort. He drowned Sunday while fishing with three companions. fellow swimmer Carl Goodwin warned him but could not reach him. Funeral services are set for Comfort Presby terian Church with burial at Amick Cemetery.
