New Mexico Bond Act Defines 2016 Capital Projects Plan
The act authorizes selling general obligation bonds for capital expenditures across senior citizen facilities libraries higher education and public safety with a property tax levy to repay principal and interest and sets sale and expenditure rules. It lists dozens of specific projects including senior centers in Albuquerque Bernalillo County and rural areas, library acquisitions statewide, and higher education infrastructure across multiple universities and colleges. The measure declares an emergency and targets the 2016 general election for voter approval.
