City Manager Jared Langenegger and commissioners discussed responsibilities for keeping a minimum Ute Lake water pool for recreation. Mayor Pro Tem Robert Lumpkin leads efforts opposing a $500 million pipeline plan to drain water to Curry and Roosevelt counties. Lumpkin asserts county involvement and notes Tucumcari benefits from lake recreation through visitor spending and local jobs. The commission will hear Lumpkin's presentation at a future meeting.
