Oldest Dayton man Cyrus Robbins turns 79 at family dinner

Cyrus McCalister Robbins, Dayton’s oldest man at 79 on Nov 21, was honored at a family birthday dinner by daughter Mrs. Dallas Elwood in Hyde Park Ut. Since 1918 a resident of Dayton he and wife Sarah Ellen Hurd raised nine children and 25 grandchildren. He recalls school in dugouts and log houses and still enjoys carpentry and blacksmith work.

Family reminiscence from Snowville to Stone passes on

In 1903 the narrator recalls choosing Sarah Ellen as his wife and their years living in Snowville and Stone. They raised two sons and five daughters, often visiting family by buggy. A digging accident injured Mr Robbins as he unloaded a wagon box, breaking his leg. Continued on page 4.
