Thirty four thousand pheasants were raised and liberated in Idaho this year by state bird farms under James QO. Bock director of the fish and game department. Jerome Lapwai and other farms contributed birds with 200,300 released at Jerome and 13,700 at Lapwai. Pheasant hunting season opens in October with varying dates by region and a three rooster bag limit.
