Preston community mourns the death of George Lawrence Stanger 57 a city council member and civic leader after an eight week heart illness. Funeral today at the First Ward chapel with burial in Preston Cemetery. He was born November 14 1888 American Falls Idaho married Sadie Hymas and moved to Preston in 1931 owning Stanger Implement and farming in Idaho Falls and Preston. He served a third term on the city council and held leadership roles in YMMIA and local youth programs. He is survived by Nyle Della Ben Cornell and his wife.
