machinist Donald Arthur Rogers of Preston Idaho served aboard the escort carrier known as the Rugged Rudy. The ship supported three major Pacific operations including Okinawa Iwo Jima and the Philippines campaign. Her air crews shot down six enemy planes and protected fleet oil tankers during harsh conditions.
