Two ham operators across the world linked a Nebraska man stationed in the Philippines with his parents Mr and Mrs Bill Hansen of Preston. The talk occurred via telephone to Omari Neb and radio to the Philippines, lasting about five minutes with all services free of charge.
The Preston Golf and Country Club hosted Ladies Day on Friday with a South of The Border theme. Chairmen and committee members included Mrs Keith Larson and Mrs Demar Mer nile along with Mrs Ivan Fackrell, Mrs Douglas Webb, Mark Hammond, and Mrs Bill Hansen. Prizes went to Mrs Glen Godfrey for low putts, Mrs Vic Halford for high putts, Mrs Rulon Dunn and Mrs Ross Rasmussen for pars on Number 9, Mrs Burt Martin for being out of bounds most times, and Mrs Webb for sand trap trouble.
