The 1967 Franklin county fair premium list will be mailed this week to 1966 open class exhibitors and to 4 H club leaders, vocational ag teachers, superintendents, and special committeemen. Extra copies available by calling the County Agent’s office or visiting in Preston. Chair man William Robinson notes improved fairground facilities and new street work, plus expanded poultry and rabbit housing as crews build four decked exhibit cages. Entries accepted Wednesday 6 pm 8 pm and Thursday 8 30 am 9 am.

Wheat Growers Set Food Fair Awards At Franklin County Fair
The Idaho State Wheat Growers announce special awards in three foods categories at the Franklin County Fair. 4-H members will exhibit bread cookies biscuits hot rolls nut or fruit bread and cakes with a 3 to 5 minute demonstration. Judging emphasizes product quality and demonstration. Exhibits and demonstrations are scheduled for August 23 at the fairgrounds with cash prizes of 350 250 and 150 per category.

Architects Report Seeks New Hospital Over Remodeling
A report by Fetzer and Fetzer of Salt Lake City and Fred Von Niederhausern of Logan recommends building a new hospital on a new site, or in two phases, with 32 beds now and a nursing home later. Remodeling would cost about 350000 with a 250000 nursing home addition not including land. The study notes higher per square foot costs for remodeling and suggests federal involvement may be smaller for a new build.

Pocatello Boy Dies After Drowning Incident
A nine year old boy, Donna Price of Pocatello, drowned Saturday afternoon while attempting to swim from a boat to a dock at Twin Lakes. He was pulled from the lake after several minutes of diving rescue efforts and pronounced dead at the hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Manning Chapel in Pocatello. He was a Tenday school fourth grader and active in Cub Scouts. Surviving are his parents and three brothers.

Pet Plant Doors to Lock as Preston Milk Flow Moves to Richmond
Herbert G Taylor of Pet Incorporated announced milk receiving and processing at the Preston unit will be combined with the Richmond Utah plant effective August 8. The Richmond remodeling increases capacity, allowing direct Preston area milk to be processed there, while Preston producers keep service. Three Injured In Two Motocycle Accidents
Three boys suffered injuries in two motorcycle accidents during the past week. David Terry Westerberg, 15, of Preston, sustained multiple leg fractures and other injuries. Randy J. Timothy, 17, of Preston, and Rodney Headstrom, 16, of Pocatello, were treated after driving left of center into a car driven by Anna B. Hurst, 46, Preston. Damages totaled about 200 dollars to the cycle and 300 dollars to the car. Timothy was driving the cycle from a campground into a path of the car driven by Tonendy Carl Smith, 62, of Smithfield. about 200 dollars damage to the car and the cycle.
