School News Highlights Band Officers and First Grade Reading

Band officers for 1966 67 were elected with Carolyn Kealiher as president and Diane Bodine as vice president. The band, with 46 members, plans Harvest of Harmony trips and features drum majorette Nancy Kisler. First graders focus on reading with Red Blue and Yellow Birds and practice phonics, arithmetic, and health alongside the SRA Composition Lab. Eighth graders study United States history as the year opens with America's Festivals and Nebraska heritage themes.

Aurora women attend Emma Peterson's 80th birthday party

Mrs. Clarence Johnson Mrs. La Vaughn Adelson and Mrs. Ronald Beins of Aurora joined guests at the Stromsburg resident Emma Peterson's 80th birthday celebration held Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. C. R. Carlson in Silver Creek. Judy Adelson of Lincoln and a Denver friend visited Monday and Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Adelson.
