Polk County Nebraska officials in Osceola meet in regular session September 2 1969 with all board members present. They audit and approve claims and authorize warrants against funds in listed amounts.
A fragment lists Coral R Boden with Capitol Delivery of Omaha clerical work for freight and electric and gas services. It shows charges for Central Telephone & Utilities and Consumers Public Power Dist, with figures 3.15, 8.40, and 88.72.
Assorted payments list from county funds including Assessor Association workshop expenses, insurance, roofing materials, fixtures, clerical and mileage, road and bridge fund expenditures, printing and supplies, utilities, and various vendor charges. Notable items include Texas Refinery roofing materials, Island Supply Co rents, and mileages for county officials.
Property listings describe 120 acres in Section 30 with fair barn and crib improvements, level cultivated land suitable for irrigation, located 2 miles south of Stromsburg. An adjacent 40 acre tract on City limits southeast of Stromsburg has no improvements, half under cultivation, rest pasture and timber.
Two 160 acre parcels in Polk County with good improvements. The first lies in Section 29 near the west side of Polk with 50 acres permanent pasture and level land suitable for irrigation. The second parcel is near Stromsburg in Section 28, mostly cultivated, mostly level, and suitable for irrigation development.
The tract near Silver Creek on Highway 30 covers about 394 acres with 140 acres of native pasture and hayland and over half a mile of Platte River frontage. Terms require 15 percent cash at sale with balance due March 1 1970 and include tenant crop rights, preexisting tenancies, and seller retained landlord crop share. Abstracts and executors deeds will be furnished. 1969 taxes paid by seller.
