Polk School Enrollment Drops Amid Grade Shifts

Polk public schools report enrollment fell from 277 to 257 as a graduating class of 31 and a kindergarten of 12 entered the year. High school numbers dip slightly due to a 27 freshmen class, with 22 sophomores and juniors. 49 boys and 38 girls. Kindergarten through 8th grades see mixed counts, aided by teachers Mrs. Wayne Tyler and Mrs. Merle Good, plus specialists Mrs. Gissler and Miss Baker. Two new students from the Floyd Sanders family join the district.
