Polk High Band Faces Busy Fall Schedule in 1940
Interest in music runs high at Polk High as the Ak Sar Ben Marching Band Contest lists Polk Manning Pocahontas Iowa on September 29. Class C schools Avoca Sidney Tabor Griswold Owa Emerson Tekamah Nebraska also appear. Polk Commercial Club funds transport and meals. The Polk band performs at York October 7 at 7 30 p m with York High Band for the fall window display contest. Junior band openings exist for flute trombone and two bass horns. The major vocal group is the girls glee club with plans for a girls sextette and boys octet.
