Polk High elects officers for multiple classes

The Polk High School seniors elected Ann Thompson as president and Susan Shaw as vice president with Cheryl Sage as secretary, Russell Wing as treasurer, and Steve Saylor as news reporter. Junior class officers include Tom Stevens president and Nancy Kisler vice president with Sharon Fossberg secretary and Loren Wilshusen treasurer.

Glen Babcock Wins Bank Handicap Golf Trophy

Glen Babcock captured the Winners Trophy at the Citizens State Bank handicap golf tournament held 18 holes Sunday afternoon at the Riverside cabin. Roger Hanquist won the Runner-up Trophy. Guests at the event included Mr and Mrs K L Stewart and several local couples.

Polk Methodist WSCS Hosts Teachers as Guests

The Polk Methodist Church Women’s Society meeting on Sept 1 drew 28 members and several guests, with Polk school teachers joining for lunch. The group planned a turkey dinner before Thanksgiving, and the program “Missions to Six Continents” was presented by Mrs Ollie Johnson, Mrs Ester Lackey, and Mrs Harlan Peterson. Rev Patten screened a film on the American Bible Society. Hostesses included Mrs Francis Widga, Mrs Art Adelson, Mrs Paul Coover, and Mrs Marvin Fredrickson.
