Mr and Mrs Rudolph Gustafson and others visited relatives in Polk County. Several families including Strombergs and Sandbergs called on Paul Coover. Weekend guests included Lawrence Dening and Don Meshler from Sioux City. State Fair attendance noted with multiple visits. Carlson Market front brick work as bank project advances

Ernest Anderson is adding a brick front to the Carlson Market building owned by W. E. and Walter Green. C. A. Frazier of Silver Creek supervised the bid for the Citizens State Bank and two store buildings. Contractor is Mr. Almquist of Central City. The Graves family plans to move into their remodeled southeast town home next week.

Mr and Mrs Harold Green and family of York visited the Everett Cramer home Sunday evening. Several neighbors and relatives stopped by for dinners and calls throughout the week. Official Proceedings of Polk Village Board September 6 1949

Village Board met with all members present except Chairman Fredrickson. Temporary chairman Stromberg led the session. Minutes and reports were read and approved. Bills for the village including salaries, mileage, services and supplies were listed from multiple local vendors and firms.
