Pleasant Home Makers 4H win blue awards at state fair

The Polk County 4H club led with 46 exhibitors in demonstrations and posters including secretary's book and baked goods. Sheralee Hill Marilyn Hahn and Sandra Hill earned blue awards for first time and demonstrated wrapping meat for the locker and first aid for fainting with Natalie Hahn.

Nebraska 4H winners and local society notes

Purple ribbon to Sheralee Hill for white bread and blue on white cake at the 4H state competition. Shirley Stevens earned blue on the All Aboard for the 4H Express poster, Sondra Hill got red for Be Your Own Best Exhibit. Marilyn Hahn received a ticket package from Edwin Schultz as one of ten essay winners on The Value of the Nebraska State Fair to the State of Nebraska. Engagement announced for Ruby Walgreen to Paul Gustafson of Polk Nebraska. Miss Walgreen in Luther College, now senior at Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing. George Swanson and wife from Minneapolis visited family in Nebraska.

Folk to celebrate fourteenth anniversary and wedding notices

Folk will celebrate her fourteenth anniversary with a big celebration and baseball tournament on September 16 and 17. Cards announce the coming wedding of Eleonora Louise Joseph to Martin C. Maroin of Schuyler on Tuesday August 31 at five o'clock at Immanuel Lutheran Church. J. B. Kingston returned from Albuquerque. The Kingston family plans to move to that city in November due to Mrs. Kingston's health. Polk Public Schools list teachers for the coming year. An injury occurred when Johnny Plessinger stepped on a moving machine. he received medical care. Carl Halden and his sister left for Big Springs to visit their uncle S. J. Halden.
