County Proceedings Approve Lease for Maintainer and Loader

County minutes note approval of lease with Island Supply Company for a new Austin Western maintainer for Commissioner District 1 and a Model 15 Michigan loader for Commissioner District 3. On motions by Johnson and Ingalls, with Dahlin voting, resolutions were adopted.

Home Society Club hostess reports August meeting

Mrs Sadie Clark hosted the Home Society Club on August 17 with 12 members and 2 visitors. Mae Johnson led the business meeting, Lydia Peterson sent a Thank You note, Ann Kisler reported on the Nebraska Children's Home, and Myrtle Bush received the hostess gift. An all hostess lunch followed. September’s meeting will be at Mrs Grant Johnson’s home.

Polk welcomes new school families as moving season continues

Beginning of the school year brings a wave of moving into Polk with multiple families locating near the high and elementary schools. LWML District Meet Held At Kearney Nebraska

The Southern Nebraska District LWML of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod held its 13th biannual convention and workshop August 30 and 31 on the Kearney State Teachers College campus. Mrs. Walter Kaltwasser, Texas District president, spoke. Attendees from Immanuel Lutheran Polk included Mrs. Emil Wilshusen and Mrs. Lavern Schulze.

County land sale approved by board vote

Polk News Items Attend Family Visitors and Fishing Trip

Mr and Mrs Irvin Anderson enjoy a two week fishing trip to Pine River Minnesota. Mr and Mrs Wayne Stevens of Ewing and Mrs Mabel Stevens with Glen visit Mr and Mrs Floyd Miller for Sunday dinner. Mr and Mrs Jerome Light of York dine with Mr and Mrs Bill Lavelle and family. Wayne Stevens of Ewing also stays with Horace Stevens and family and attends Bean Day events.
