Raymond Sundberg returned home Friday from Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln after major surgery. Mrs Lester Reders remains a patient in Aurora Hospital. Neal Van Housen family Bob Rohrs and Jeff visited Rodney Johnsons after the Wednesday night football game.
Osceola Bulldogs overwhelmed Polk Cubs 47 to 8 with 13 first downs to Polk's 9 and 220 total yards to 156. Gus Bills scored on an 81 yard run for Polk’s lone TD, while Kent Anderson added a safety. Coach Gary Warden praised defense and new formations ahead of Friday’s Lakeview game at Columbus.

Jennie Charlotte Johnson 84 died October 23 1969 at Litzenberg Memorial Hospital Central City after a long illness. Born February 11 1885 in Holland Sweden she emigrated to America at 19 and lived on the family farm west of Hordville Nebraska. Funeral services were held October 26 1969 at Fridhem Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Carlson officiating. Interment was in Hordville Cemetery. She leaves four children seven grandchildren two great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
A baby boy born Oct 26 weighing 7 lb 3 oz to Mr and Mrs Joe Tyler at Aurora Hospital with mother and child in good condition. Neil Dean was named for the newborn. Mr and Mrs Michael Fjell of Millard announce a son born Oct 27 weighing 7 lb 2 oz. Russell Fjell is the paternal grandfather and Mrs Ann O Shea is the maternal grandmother. Mr and Mrs Skip Walker of Kearney announce a baby boy with maternal grandmother listed as Mrs Ann O Shea.
The Week of Prayer and Self Denial will be observed Friday afternoon October 31 at 2 00 PM at the Swede Plain United Methodist Church. Polk United Methodist and Stromsburg United Methodist Churches will also observe the day at the Swede Plain United Methodist Church.
