Home Society Holds Halloween Meeting in Stromsburg

The Home Society met in Swede Home Stromsburg with 12 members. Mrs Margaret Bower hosted and welcomed members. The group voted to send its annual Thanksgiving gift to the home. Vergil Bush received the hostess gift. Anna Guthrie won low and Harold Lenz high in cards. A pot luck lunch featured fall and Halloween decor. The November 17 meeting will be at Mrs Vergil Bush’s farm home.

Nebraska Nursing Student Cheryl Samuelson Wins Scholarship

Cheryl Samuelson of Polk is among 39 University of Nebraska College of Nursing students receiving scholarships from $100 to $400. Funds were donated to the university and the University of Nebraska Foundation by individuals and organizations.

Oliver Baker Celebrates 81st Birthday in Hospital

Oliver Baker of Benedict Nebraska celebrated his 81st birthday while a patient at Bryan Memorial Hospital Lincoln Nebraska. Nurses and staff on the Sixth Floor joined in the celebration with a bicentennial cake baked by his niece and the hospital team.
