Lutheran Choral Union To Give Polk Concert
The Lutheran Choral Union of the York Area under Rev. Paul Bussert will present their annual York concert on Sunday November 29 1953 at 8:00 pm with Dr. Laurence Acker as speaker. A tour is planned Sunday November 22 to St Libory at 2 15 pm and Kearney at 2 00 pm tentative. A midweek concert occurs Friday November 27 at 8 00 pm Polk. The group will sing over radio station EMMI Grand Island December 6 1953 at 2 00 pm.

At Polk High School homecoming ceremony Friday night the football king Kenny Werner and queen Anita Samuels were crowned. Jim Reeves Dies at York Rest Home
Jim Reeves aged 81 died Wednesday morning at a York Nebraska rest home after only a week there. Funeral arrangements were pending on the arrival of two brothers from Oklahoma. Interment will be in Stromsburg Cemetery.

Nellie Peterson born December 31 1862 in Knared Socken Holland Sweden died October 11 1953 at age 90 years 9 months and 10 days. She married Claus Peterson January 16 1889 and lived on farms near Polk and Hardville Nebraska. Survived by two daughters four sons ten grandchildren four great grandchildren two brothers and many relatives. Funeral services were held October 13 1953 at Brauer Funeral Home and First Baptist Church Polk with interment in Baptist cemetery.

The Arborsiile pool house District 44 York County brought 430 to Chas S Peterson of Polk, while District 45 Polk County sold for 180 to the same buyer.
