Men of Swede Plain Paint Their Church
About twenty men from Swede Plain church and the community gathered Wednesday to paint the church white. In the afternoon the WSCS meeting with Mrs. Lloyd Lind as program leader featured solos by Mrs. Roland Bodine and Mrs. Edwin Nyberg, with lunch served by hostesses Mrs. Robert Shostrom and Mrs. Clifford Carlson.

Harvest Festival at Christian Children's Home Held in Holdrege
Women from the Evangelical Free Church mission societies attended the Harvest Festival at the Christian Children's Home in Holdrege on October 12. The event drew guests from Nebraska's Eastern and Western Districts with messages by Rev. Carroll Nelson of Greeley Colorado and Rev. Virgil Bergman. Clothing and gifts were collected for the Home as a large crowd gathered for religious outreach and fellowship.

Polk beats Osceola 13 to 7 on Polk’s home field to seize at least a share of the conference title. Gaylen Holmes scores both Polk touchdowns from Waldon McNaught passes. McNaught adds the extra point. Holmes and McNaught suffer injuries but expected to play next game with Stromsburg on October 25.
