Forty Years Ago Members Attend Arborville Church
The Arborville Congregational Church hosted a reunion on October 11 inviting former Congregational party crowd members from forty years past. A morning service featured an old-time choir and a picnic dinner followed by hymns and specials performed by Mrs. Recknor and her daughter. A surprise party celebrated the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Bernhard Schmidt on Saturday October 10 with friends and relatives delivering baskets for a hearty dinner. A midnight lunch and a mock wedding provided amusement as relatives including the Van Hausens and H Van Hausen of York joined. The couple received gifts such as ten silver dollars and a silver adornment, and guests departed wishing many more happy anniversaries.

Nels L Larson born April 14 1849 in Skona Sweden died October 9 at 87.5 years after a long farming life in Illinois and Nebraska. He married Ingred Johnson in 1871 and had five children Mary Emma Hannah Ella and Frank. Survived by five children eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral by Brauer Funeral Home conducted by Rev Pengelly and burial at Swede Plain Cemetery.
