The American Legion Auxiliary met at Mrs. G. W. Gestrine's home on Monday evening. A refreshment committee included Mesdames R. S. McCutchen, Harry Shafer, Oscar Gustafson and Miss Nina and Margaret Gestrine. Local residents and visitors were noted, with social visits, parties, and a birthday celebration for Eldon Peterson. Families moved and guests visited from nearby towns, including Osceola and York, with community activities spanned October 1926.
L M Merrick announces candidacy for Polk County Judge on a non political ticket. Born and raised in Polk, ex service man, high school and commercial college graduate. Seeks votes in the general election November 3 1936 while praising education and experience.
Paul E. Carlson pastor leads Sunday School at 10:00 and Morning Worship at 11:00 with Evening Service at 7:30. Change noted from last week. Wednesday Young People Meeting and Jr Endeavor at 7:30 with choir rehearsal afterward. Open invitation to worship with us.

Swede Plains M E Church led by E E Pengelly invites all to Sunday worship at 10 00 am with Sunday School at 11 00 am The congregation plans to repaint the church starting Monday weather permitting All are welcome to join in worship and painting efforts to support the church community.
