Polk County Sailor Killed in Truck Car Crash
Seaman Ervin Adolph Forss 21 of Alameda California was killed in a Sunday crash between Columbus and Schuyler when a second tow truck veered onto his car’s side causing it to roll over. Survived by parents Adolph and Mrs Forss of Swede Home a sister and a brother. Funeral held at Swede Home Church with full military honors.

A week of Missionary Education at the Local Baptist Church culminated in a commissioning service for Miss Gwendolyene Hay. The church funds half her support with the First Baptist Church of Waverly, Iowa covering the rest. Hay, born in Kuta Nigeria to missionary parents, will work near her birthplace.
