The second annual Polk County Corn Show sponsored by the Osceola Chamber of Commerce will run in the second week of December at the Consumers Public Power Office. A quilt show offers 25 dollars in prize money across six classes, plus door prizes and 100 dollars in cash across 20 prize placements. A short course includes Professor Hopperts on fruit for farm families with film and slides, plus 4-H judging, labor saving devices, and farm health and water topics for 1946 extensions.

Van Doren Services Held for Seattle Resident
Funeral services were conducted at Swede Home Lutheran Church for William Arthur Van Doren of Seattle Washington who died of a heart attack November 9 on his way home from Ebasco Services in New York. Born September 18 1902 in Staunton Virginia he was 43 years 1 month and 22 days old. He married Signe Sandin January 23 1931 in Seward Nebraska and is survived by his wife and daughter Diana 18 a brother Albert of California. Burial was in Swede Home Lutheran Cemetery.
