Johan August Johnson, born January 27 1877 in Swede Home Nebraska, died November 11 1949 at age 72 9 14. He passed when clothes caught on a drive shaft at the corn elevator. He married Beda Rydell January 1 1908. two sons Harlan and Carl survive with his wife deceased September 29 1926.

Fatally Injured in Farm Accident Near Osceola
Polk County man August Johnson 72 died last Friday when his clothing was caught in an elevator while unloading corn seven miles west of Osceola on Highway 92. He was helping with corn picking when the accident occurred in late afternoon. His son Carl was away. Mrs. Carl Johnson found him after the incident. It is believed his clothing was pulled into the elevator and threw him against the tractor driving the power.
