No Hard Surfacing for Highway 66 Discussed in Polk Delegation
A Polk delegation led by Frank Davis and five businessmen met Nebraska State Highway officials in Lincoln on November 29 to push for hard surfacing of Highway 66 from Polk to Highway 81. Blood Mobile Visit Reaches 163 Pints In Polk County
The Blood Mobile at Parish Hall Shelby on November 1 sponsored by Polk County Red Cross was the sixth and largest county visit. One hundred eighty eight donors passed through the line producing 163 pints of blood with 25 rejects. Donors ranged from Shelby Stromsburg Osceola Polk York and Central City with health rules requiring donors to be 18 to 66 with parental consent for younger donors. Polk County Red Cross thanks donors and workers and urges participation in the upcoming Christmas Lighting Festival.
