At a regular Commercial Club meeting on Monday evening committees were appointed for both Christmas and Thanksgiving. The group aims for an elaborate holiday program with more decorations and free entertainment. About fifty members attended and enjoyed a chicken dinner. Mrs Amanda Gustafson Rodine 69 dies after faithful life
Mrs Amanda Gustafson Rodine of Polk Nebraska died peacefully early last Saturday at age 69 11 19 after frail health. She was born in Akaby Sweden in 1866 and emigrated to Varna Illinois before moving to Nebraska. Survived by husband Charles G Rodine and nine children with many grandchildren a funeral was held Friday at Free Church with Rev Paul F Carlson.

Leon Brierley, a U S employee with the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics in Omaha, died by jumping from a Baum building third floor window while his colleague William Parkinson battled to stop him.
