Philip Johnsons 80th Birthday Celebration

Philip Johnson was honored for his 80th birthday at a dinner held Sunday in Swede Plain Church parlors. Forty three relatives gathered to help celebrate, and later his daughter Lois of Lincoln served birthday cake and ice cream.

Miss Karla Irwin was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs Marvin Schulze. Guests enjoyed a social afternoon, Karla opened gifts, and luncheon featured blue yellow and pink decorations. She will wed Richard Person on November 28.

Twenty-Eight Attend Legion Auxiliary Meeting

The American Legion Auxiliary met Monday evening November 8 with twenty eight members and guests. A letter of thanks from the Veterans Home in Grand Island was read for entertaining them to bingo. Various reports noted attendance at bingo and parties, with plans for a December 1 dinner and November 23 card party. A rehab project for the Veterans home was shown and a film titled Out of the Wilderness Our Nations Capital was screened. Hostesses provided lunch.

Country Women's Club Meeting Notes
