Mr and Mrs Kenneth Werner are parents of Mickie Kaye born Friday Nov 2 at Litzenberg Memorial Hospital Central City. She weighed 10 pounds. Mr and Mrs Roger Graham of Castle Rock Colorado are parents of Craig William born Oct 21 weighing 7 pounds 614 ounces. Mrs Graham is the former Donna Cohagen of Polk.
Lynn Johnson sustained a head injury last Thursday after tangled in a power take-off shaft during field work. He remains unconscious Monday night at Aurora Hospital. His mother is Dorothy Johnson, a Polk schools teacher. Mrs Gerald Cline was treated at Osceola hospital last week.
The Polk Evangelical Free Church hosts a Sunday night missionary rally on November 11 at 5 30. Dr John Campbell a medical doctor and returnee from the Congo will speak. Pastors Pinkernell and Johnson sing a duet and a fellowship coffee hour follows the slide presentation and mission challenge.

Mr and Mrs Clyde Cantrell of Topeka Kansas and Mr and Mrs Cliff Branting were Saturday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Vern Ekland and Vernalene.
Mr and Mrs Elmer Swanson of Central City announce the engagement of their daughter Maxine Arneta Swanson to Dolan Joe Hahn son of Mrs Hannah Hahn of Polk Miss Swanson is a 1961 graduate of Central City High School and works at Grand Island Mr Hahn is a Polk High School graduate employed with Henry Kisler at Polk A November 11 wedding is planned.
Bob Manley will head a PTA program at the grade school and speak on the History of Nebraska. The talk includes music and pictures and features a TV appearance on the Joe Martin show. Attendees will view Nebraska scenery and enjoy coffee, cups, and cookies served by room mothers.
Mr and Mrs M O Johnson announce the engagement of their daughter Marcia to Douglas S Dapper of Houston Texas The groom elect is the son of Mrs H W Dapper of Greenville SC and the late Col Dapper Miss Johnson is a Bryan Memorial School of Nursing graduate in Lincoln Mr Dapper is a University of Texas graduate and Beta Phi member A spring wedding is planned.
Silver Creek Tigercats crushed Polk Cubs 33 7 in the season finale on Polk gridiron. Jerry Sock scored three touchdowns in a dominating show with 230 rushing yards on 13 carries. Polk fumbled eight times and lost six as Stromberg and Kroger led early offense before Silver Creek pulled away in the second period.
