Leonard A Peterson born October 23 1889 on a Polk Nebraska area farm died May 7 after a brief illness. He married Dora Jones in 1914 and had two sons Gordon and Conrad and daughter Audrey. Survived by siblings Enoch Ben Dr Arthur and two sisters and other relatives. Preceded by wife Dora infant daughter and his parents.

Polk County Ladies Tour Iowa Trip Highlights

Mrs Verl Leach of Stromsburg Mrs Dwight Burney and Natalie Hahn joined a three day Spring Iowa Tour from Thursday to Saturday. They visited a studio festival and toured Amana colonies Herbert Hover birthplace library burial grounds at West Branch and other Iowa sites. Local hosts entertained guests for birthdays and confirmations at community events.

Natalie Hahn, returning from a six month international youth scholarship trip to New Zealand, spoke to numerous groups. She appeared at Extension teas in Orchard and Arapahoe, spoke to McCook Junior High, Polk grade classes, Hartington students, and addressed the University of Nebraska 4H Club in Lincoln and York WSCS.

The Baptist Mission Circle met on May ninth with devotions led by Mrs Don Bjerrum. The group screened the film The Unknown Quantity. Senior girls and mothers attended, seated at a color themed table. Lunch was served by Mrs Orlie Miller Mrs O F Alfred Mrs Wallace Sandell and Mrs A E Swanson.

Mr and Mrs Carl Christianson Jolene and Jean of Lincoln visited Mrs Martha Larson over the weekend. Dale Nyberg and sons from Central City spent Thursday afternoon with Richard Johnson Russell Olson and Grace Lindburg of Tulsa and Roy Nelson of Clarks. Leslie Adelson hosted guests Sunday evening, and Adelsons dined with Arthur Prinee of York Thursday. Baptist Vacation Bible School teachers surprised Rev Gene Wood after school Wednesday for birthdays with cake and coffee.
