In Osceola and surrounding towns, Marcia Dawes pays $15 with $5 costs, Vaughn A. Wiebusch $35 with $5 costs, Richard D. Urban $15 with $5 costs, and Jack H Block of Henderson is noted for a day speed offense.
The sole donation to the Summer Recreation Fund this week is $100 from American Legion Post 160 linked to teen dances. A doubleheader at the local field is set for Sunday with Shelby, and a potential girls game with Aurora is noted. The girls beat Columbus 16-2 Friday. small boys lost to Gresham, big boys won last Sunday.

Mr and Mrs William L Stromberg of Fort Collins announce the engagement of their daughter Linda Lee to David M Kraxberger of Loveland. Linda, a 1965 Fort Collins High School graduate, works for Continental Air Lines in Houston. David, son of Mr and Mrs Warren Kraxberger, is also a 1965 Fort Collins High School graduate, employed by Everett Lumber Co, and will attend Colorado State University in the fall. A September wedding is planned.
Polk School outlines six week summer program with buses at 7 45 a m on May 27 for the first day. No classes May 30 or July 4. Teachers include Mildred Sterner Allyn Chambers Hanquist Karl Adamson for language arts science math and physical education. Sessions run 30 to 11 20 with lunch at home. Thirty two pupils will use new materials to strengthen the regular term. Inquiries to 765 2271.
The Methodist Vacation Bible School will hold an Open House on Sunday May 26 at 9 45 during Sunday School hour. Everyone is invited.
Polk County registrants were forwarded to Omaha on Tuesday May 4 for induction into the Armed Forces. Gene Fred Schlesinger of Shelby Gerald Lee Sperling of Stromsburg and Lynn Irvin Sundberg of Polk are among those reported for the May call. A total of five registrants were sent for examinations. The Gideon Society provided New Testaments to each registrant. The June call is set for the 18th and will include three men.
