Doane College symposium spoofs the vacation policy

Polk High Graduation Planned for Eighteen Seniors

Eighteen Polk High seniors will graduate Thursday in the school auditorium. Gail Hanquist daughter of Mr and Mrs Dean Samuelson is valedictorian and Luann Bills daughter of Mr and Mrs Lowell Bills is salutatorian.

Principal Brutto will present the seniors and Harold Carlson president of the school board will award the diplomas. The eighth grade class will be promoted by Superintendent Walter Nielsen. Pictures of the seniors are printed throughout this Progress.

Memorial Day Services at Arborville May 26 Program

Memorial Day ceremonies in Arborville include invocation by Rev. Willis Pauls at 9 00 AM on Legion grounds with Pierre guests. Speakers Lilac Lawn and Lt. Cmdr 7th District American Legion, buglers Brian Bedient Lana Bills, and VFW color guard. Wreath dedication, firing squad, taps, and benediction follow at Arborville Cemetery. Inclement weather moves to Arborville Town Hall.

Summer Ball Games Start This Sunday

The opening games begin Sunday May 25 for Pony and Midget teams coached by Tony Warnick Myron Munn and Allen Willits against Gresham. A Friday May 23 non scheduled Central City game at Polk ball field precedes it. Pee Wee practice is Saturday at 6 30 pm Don Graff coaches with Tony.
