Miss Rosemary Crow and Miss Melba Ann Carlson are in the 1939 graduating class of nurses at Bishop Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Graduation was May 4 at Trinity Cathedral with 28 graduates. reception followed at Parish Hall. Polk residents attended including Mr and Mrs Axl Crow and Miss Emalyne Denker. Polk High won the county track meet in York on May 9, with Marvin Branting leading with multiple firsts and Polk leading towns 41 1 3 to 40 1 3.

The annual Mothers Day meeting of the W F M S was held in the Methodist church parlors on Thursday afternoon with Mrs Irvin Anderson and Mrs Fitch as hostesses. The program driven by Mrs Oscar Sundberg and Mrs C J McCoy featured pantomime and song under the theme The Life of a Girl From Babyhood Through School and College Days to Her Own Marriage and Motherhood. Standard Bearer Girls attended and mystery mothers were revealed. The Mothers Day offering supported the Bible Woman's Fund.
