Polk High Holds Annual Field Day at School
Polk High staged its annual field day at the school athletic field on Wednesday April 26 featuring soft ball and track events for high school and grade school students in both girls and boys divisions. Senior versus Junior teams won the soft ball game 12 to 2 by the Juniors and Sophomores. Winners include Floyd Taylor and Marvin Branting in multiple boys events along with Irene Whitacre and Dorothy Mundt leading the girls sprint and field events.

She lived in the area most of her life with years on a York County farm. She married Andy L Carlson June 1 1909 and had two sons Harold and Clifford. Burial was in Polk cemetery after funeral at the Baptist Church conducted by Rev R M Bailey.
