Local Court Delivers Mix of Break-In and Minor Liquor Sentences

Robert J. Donovan of Grand Island and Joyce M. Navrkal of Columbus faced day speed fines of $25 and $5 as part of court records. Robert R. Schultz and Melvin R. Utesch of Columbus and Nebraska were bound over to District Court for breaking and entering. A separate liquor-for-minor case resulted in 15 days in jail, plus fines of $250 and $5.

Farmers urged to check stored grain under loan

ASCS county chairman Richard Sealey explains final loan returns depend on grain condition at payoff or delivery. Cancer Fund Drive Ends In Rural Area

The East and West Pleasant Home precinct Cancer Fund drive closed last week with 158 dollars pledged after contacting 138 homes in 63 sections and 128 responses. County chairman Mrs Raymond Lindblade and precinct rural chairman Mrs Irvin Anderson thank solicitors including Mrs Leslie Adelson and others and praise Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid The Legion Auxiliary and the Country Woman's Club for their support. Mrs Clifford Bowman led all solicitors for the fifth year and raised the highest amount.
