Feed grain signup open to military mobilized farmers

Farmers already signed up for the 1968 feed grain program may modify acreage diversions if military reserve personnel are on extended active duty or if draftees or volunteers have been ordered to active duty since March 15. The modification applies to farms with participating producers. At Central City, Robin Flodman won three events and placed fourth in another at the Platte Valley Wranglers horse show. Robin and Dave Beck earned third in a team event.

Polk Local Items Highlight Week of Visitors and Events

Last week featured numerous social visits and gatherings across Polk. Des Moines visitors stayed with the Cramers. Hoffman family hosted relatives in Stromsburg and York. a Country Women’s Club dinner in York included Emil Person as shut‑in reminder cards. The weekend included birthdays celebrated at the Lindburg and Rodine households, church and civic activities, and a Model Quarter Horse Show in Osceola with Robin earning multiple prizes.
