The school board announced last Friday that H. E. Warren has been signed as the new superintendent of Polk schools for the 1952-52 school year. Warren has served six years as superintendent in St. Edward.

May Baskets Bring Cheer to Polk Shut-Ins
May baskets organized by Polk Methodist Sunday School brought fruit candy and cookies to nine shut ins. Jack Stephens 27 son of Mr and Mrs Wilfred Stephens of Polk died Friday in a highway 75 crash near Offut Field. He lived in Plattsmouth with his wife and two children and worked with Headquarters Strategic Air Command at Offut Field. Funeral services were held Tuesday with full military honors at Kronberg Lutheran Church and Burl al Cemetery.
