The state department hires Charles Wright to operate a maintainer on highway 66 east of Polk. He will oversee about sixteen miles from two miles west of town to two miles east of highway 1, with new gravel being laid. Minnie Morrill died at Osceola hospital on Wednesday April 25 at 7 20 am after being taken there Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services were held Friday at the Log Cabin home of Mrs A C Morrill with Rev G A Randall presiding. Interment followed in Stromeburg cemetery.

Charles A. Coon, 80, a former Osceola resident, died in an American Falls Idaho hospital. He joined the Osceola Masonic Lodge on March 18 1895 and served as justice of the peace at American Falls for four years, while running a variety store until his death. He is survived by his widow, two sons and a daughter.
