Winnie Mildred Gabrielson daughter of Reverend John and Charlotte Gabrielson was born November 5 1877 in Keokuk Iowa and died March 24 1949 at her Wesley Methodist Church apartment in Lincoln Nebraska. A missionary and evangelist she served in India and Scandinavia and was active with the Swedish American church community. Funeral services were held in Lincoln at Wesley Methodist Church and Polk Methodist Church with interment at Swede Plain Cemetery.

A farm plan must be signed for every farm where conservation practices will be carried out under the AAA program before April 15 1949. Funeral services were conducted March 13 at Fridhem Lutheran Church for Axel W Johnson 69 of San Jose California who died March 7. Rev Edward T Chindwall officiated with music by Eldon and Lennart Johnson and Laula Swanson. Burial was in Eridhem Lutheran Cemetery. Johnson born May 17 1879 at Hordville married Millie Larson April 8 1906 and farmed in Hordville before 1920 moving to Aurora then worked for Burlington Railroad 1926 to 1946 retiring then moved to Lincoln and finally San Jose Survivors include wife Eloise Linus and siblings.

Hugh McGaffin longtime publisher of the Polk Progress died in Omaha after moving there years ago following the sale of his interest to H. W. Herbes. He leaves a son William McGaffin a daughter Mrs. Wallace Scott of Stromsburg seven brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at Bellwood last Thursday.

Funeral Held Sunday for Frank E. Larsen
Funeral services for Frank Emil Larsen 73 were held at Central City last Sunday afternoon. Larsen born April 30 1876 in Geneseo Illinois moved with family to Hamilton County then to Central City in 1904 and later to Polk six weeks ago. Survivors include brother Theodore Larsen of Polk twelve nephews and two nieces.

Roy Church Dies Near Silver Creek Farmer
Roy Church of Silver Creek died at his home at 3 A M Tuesday after several weeks of illness. Services were held at Pierce Chapel at 2 30 P M Thursday with burial in the parish cemetery. Surviving are his wife three daughters Nona and Iola at home and Mrs Louis Willetts Belgrade three sons Leonard Russell and Wilbur Central City one son preceded him in death. He was the brother in law of Mr and Mrs Clifford Branting and Mr and Mrs Ralph Branting of Polk.

Clara Dell Lindquist Dies At 69 In York County Nebraska
Clara Dell Corwin Lindquist was born May 29 1879 in Coatsfield Nebraska and died March 19 1949 at York General Hospital age 69 years 9 months 18 days. She married John Lindquist in 1900 at Ord Nebraska and had two sons Lyle of Seattle and Carl of Elk River. She joined the Methodist church young and was widowed December 13 1941. The couple farmed near Ord then Polk County before her death after a fall and broken hip. She is survived by her sons a sister Rose a brother David and many friends.
