Polk County Museum Moves To Mickey House In Osceola

Polk County Historical Society held its March meeting at Osceola City Hall with 32 attendees. President Curtis Flodman announced lease signing for the historic Mickey house east of the county hospital, plans include restoring and furnishing the 17 room home once owned by ex governor Mickey. If weather allows, March 28 is set as cleaning day with Osceola firemen trimming trees and clearing the yard. donations of antique furniture or funds can be offered through Phil Nyberg.

Easter Baptism and Social Gatherings Reported in Polk County

Mr and Mrs Clarence Johnson and others attended baptism at First Christian church in Aurora with Rodney Beins among the group. Luncheon followed at Don Beins. Guests later included Sharon Larson and daughters from Lincoln visiting Judy Adelson in Denver. Easter activities included various local families from Central City Ashland and Clarks attending church events and dinners.

Museum set for May opening with June dedication

Mrs Curtis Flodman and Mrs Martin Jones plan a Osceola meeting April 20 at the Orley Conklings with plans for a museum opening in May and formal dedication services scheduled for June 1.
