Polk Village Board Tackles Pump Bid and Park Planting

Polk village board met in extra session Thursday to discuss bids for a new pump and its installation at one of two wells. They debated dump rules and disease, tree replacement, and future sapling plantings, preferring six foot saplings and avoiding elm. The group also noted plant selections including crabapple, plane, and ginko as hardy options if trees survive polluting air. The meeting touched on local barber shop revival, tree trimming, and memorializing Walt Green, with plans for a Christmas decoration contest and a commentary on state efficiency versus cost. The note ends with a cue to continue on page 8.
