Social Security Agent to Visit Osceola Courthouse

A Lincoln social security representative will visit Osceola on April 3 on the second floor of the courthouse from 9 00 a m to 11 30 a m. Beneficiaries under age 72 for at least one full month in 1966 who earned over 1500 in 1966 must file earnings reports with the Social Security Administration by April 15 1967 to avoid potential loss of benefits.

Farm Signup Totals for Polk County in 1967 Programs

About 910 Polk County farmers signed up for the 1967 feed grain and wheat programs. Through March 17, 1308 feed grain farms with 140,699 acres of corn sorghum base and 28,649 acres diverted. 1291 wheat farms with 40,283 acres allotments. Special bases total 248.6 acres on 13 farms. Overall feed grain base 154,258 acres and wheat allotment 42,767 acres.

Arborville 4-H Woolies Meet at Hoffman Home

The Arborville Woolies 4-H club met Friday evening March 17 at the Darold Hoffman home. Members answered roll call with Breed of Sheep. They discussed purchasing feeding grooming and caring for sheep. Mrs. Hoffman served lunch. Next meeting planned for April 14 at the George Wochner home.

Sunday Dinner Guests Spread Across Polk County

Mr and Mrs Ed Connely of Broken Bow and others from Overson Osceola Grand Island and Omaha visited Mr and Mrs Glen Babcock and Mrs Sadie Clark for Sunday dinner. Mrs Clark joined the Connelys for a visit. Easter gatherings included Mr and Mrs Dean Samuelson and family at the Harless home with Pam and evening guests Dick Harless and family.
