Polk County Red Cross Blood Drive to Aid Warren Bedient

Polk County residents may designate blood units for Warren Bedient as the Omaha Red Cross program credits, with the center in Omaha supplying credits while the Polk bloodmobile stops at the Legion Hall on Friday March 27.

Lifelong Polk Resident Oscar E Jones Dies at 70

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the First Baptist Church Polk for Oscar E Jones 70 a Polk area resident. Burial followed at Arborville Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. He was born March 11 1900 near Polk educated in rural schools farmed near Polk retired in 1947 married Margaret Graves in Council Bluffs 1923. Survivors include his widow a son Max two daughters Beverly Bills and Joyce Baack two brothers Martin and Calmar two sisters Martha Yohe and Clara Anderson and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents a brother and an infant daughter.
