Arborville Church Plans Joint Services With Congregational Church

Arborville Congregational Church and Arborville Church announce a joint Sunday program led by Pastor Paul W. Nelson with Sunday School at 10:00 and worship at 11:00, followed by a noon fellowship dinner and 2:00 afternoon service. Congregational Church is canceling its separate service to join in these activities.

A memorial gift for Frank Davis was presented at Sunday church services. Albert Sundberg gave the gift, Marvin Fredrickson accepted it, and Mrs. Lloyd Kroger sang Sunset and Evening Star during the ceremony.

Sheralee Hill Joins Wesleyan Band For Spring Tour

Sheralee Hill selected to perform with the Nebraska Wesleyan University Band on a ten day spring tour. The 50 piece group features Hill on cornet. First concert held in Stromsburg on Monday morning with three shows daily. attendees included Glenn Hill Bondra Mrs Wayne Hill and others.

Verland Widga Named to Polk County Boys State

The American Legion selected Verland Widga from Polk High School for Cornhusker Boys State. The chosen students must rank in the upper 10 percent of their class and show leadership cooperation and loyalty. Kenneth Bowers was named as alternate.

Polk Community Chorus sponsors a public performance of Handel's Messiah on April 9 at Polk High School Auditorium. Seven combined choirs from Stromsburg churches will sing, following a home cantata last Sunday evening. Mrs. Eldon Johnson says a free will offering will aid Stromsburg singers' expenses, with Mr. Carroll Brown directing Stromsburg High's music program.

Obituary for Frank Peter Anderson Passes in Nebraska

Frank Peter Anderson born November 12 1865 in Jonskoping Tan Sweden died March 16 1953 in Lincoln Nebraska at age 87. He married Hlutda Johnson on March 31 1888 and had six children including Clarence George and Herbert Widga and daughters Mrs Ludwig Widga and Mrs Richard Widga. He lived on farms near Polk and Swede Plain before moving to Polk later illness and blindness marked his final years. Services were held March 19 at the Evangelical Free Church Polk with interment at Swede Plain Cemetery.

Mrs. Clark Stouffer Memorial Presented at Dedication

Dedication services for the Mrs. Clark Stouffer Memorial were held Sunday morning March 22. The gift, a targa painting of the Lord's Supper, was hung in the church and presented by Mrs. Harold Bodient with Rev. Paul Nelson accepting. A special choir number accompanied the ceremony. Stouffer family members attended from Hastings Beaver Crossing and Lincoln central.
