Gresham Man Takes Own Life by Hanging
Harry E. Cane aged 40 a laborer hanged himself in a second floor room of a business building. Authorities said despondency prompted the act and that he likely ended his life Saturday night or Sunday. His widow a son and two daughters survive.

W W Norton of this city spoke at a St Paul P T A meeting in St Paul last week. Judge William Norton of Osceola Nebr son of the former congressman urged reform of high school curricula to favor practical subjects over theory and called on taxpayers to support changes. He proposed adding motors and public speaking while moving away from Latin geometry and ancient history, and noted only about twenty percent of graduates enter higher learning.

Federal investigators seize large alcohol still near Silver Creek
Federal investigators from the alcohol tax unit and state liquor inspectors with Deputy Sheriff Sayers of Merrick County seized a large alcohol still at Grover C Maurer farm two miles west of Silver Creek. Maurer was arrested for possession and will be turned over to federal authorities. The still included a sixteen section rectifying column and a preheating tank for up to 1,000 gallons of mash.

He is survived by two daughters Mrs W L Ducker Tecumseh and Mrs C E Hamiston Chicago. Osceola residents in early days noted.
