Notice of Polk County Election on May 10 1966

The county announces a May 10 1966 election at usual polling places for U S Senator Governor lieutenant governor secretary of state and other state and county offices. Polls open 8:00 a m to 8:00 p m. Dale Frizzell County Clerk dated March 21 1966.

School Board Minutes March Seventh District 72 Polk County

The Polk County District 72 Board met with all members at the high school on March 7. Minutes of the prior meeting were approved. Bills totaling 4070.24 were presented. one gas repair bill was excluded and $1000 paid. A March of Dimes dance was approved for the grade school gym. A gas company kitchen range was approved for 350 plus yearly replacements for five years. Meeting adjourned.

Polk grade school hosts visiting extension student tester

Mr. Gary Garey of Ft. Collins Colorado former Polk County Extension Agent visited Polk grade school last Thursday. He tested 4th 5th and 6th grades on portions of a science series from Channel 12 educational TV. A resume of the tests will be sent to involved teachers. March 18 marked the end of the third quarter with nine weeks tests completed and report cards prepared. Mrs. Ethel Scoville of Hebron visits her daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Neeman and family.

An Easter Prayer Presented Across Local Churches

Mrs. Leslyn Ferris and volunteers performed An Easter Prayer by Barbara Gorgen of Central City at Blair First Methodist on Wednesday. The presentation continued Friday in Central City for PEO Chapter and Saturday in Grand Island as part of the Nebraska Wesleyan Guild events ahead of Communion.
