Grand Opera Faust Attended by Local Ladies in Lincoln

Subscriptions to Progress note Lillian Brown Edith and Florence Anderson plan to attend grand opera Faust in Lincoln Thursday evening. Mrs Hugh McGuffin and Mrs Alfred will drive to Lincoln to see Faust and visit their son and daughter in Omaha. Plans for 1929 Citizens Military Training Camps announced by Gen. H. A. Smith target 5000 candidates from seven states. Camps run July to August at Fort Snelling Fort Leavenworth and other posts with full expenses, uniforms and medical care provided.

High Prairie club organizes baby beef calf group

Members of the High Prairie Live Stock Club and local youths met Thursday to organize a baby beef calf club. County agent Mr. Kelley assisted. Officers elected: Henry Nyberg president, Arthur Park vice president, Lyle Holmes secretary treasurer, Wilmer Johnson news reporter. Monthly meetings planned at farm homes. Next meeting set for April 8 at 8:00 PM at Lyle Holmes' home.

The Arborville cemetery association held its annual meeting Monday evening. Officers reelected: C W Flick president F E Merchant treasurer and J L Stouffer clerk. Talks ongoing to buy two acres west of the current site expanding the cemetery to four acres.
