Teachers And Preachers Basketball Nets Polk Club Funds

A charity game between teachers preachers and local businessmen raised 18 dollars for the Polk Commercial Club at the high school. The Park Avenue Club gathered at Mrs. Emma Horstman’s home on Friday afternoon with fifteen members attending. After a pleasant visit, hostess Mrs. Horstman served a lovely lunch.

Local Residents Aid State Basketball Trip Details

Mrs. August Nelson cared for Mrs. Kupke and baby near Hordville. Carl Steelquist and Henry San dell drove players to the state tournament on Wednesday. Oscar Sundberg and Elwood San dell accompanied them Friday. Mrs. Arnold Isaacson and Mrs. Wallace Scott of Stromsburg visited Lincoln on Wednesday. Mrs. Daniels rode back with them to Polk.

Memorial for Virgil Lindburg Told in Local Baptist Service

Twenty years ago a public memorial service for Virgil Lindburg who died in the service of his country will be held Sunday afternoon in the Baptist Church. The American Legion will attend and assist in the service. His death occurred while flying the hump with a load of high octane gasoline. no wreckage or plane traces were found.
